About Al-Hijra
The first Islamic centre in Newlands, established in April 1998 and managed by a Board of Trustees.
A community centre for Islamic education
The Al-Hijra Islamic Education Trust is a multi-racial community group formed to co-ordinate Islamic affairs in Newlands. Our aim is to provide good quality Islamic education to children and adults alike, and to maintain and enhance the multicultural activities of the community.
Our centre at 40 Bracken Rd, Paparangi, is a place to learn the Qur’an, to pray, and to meet as a community. Everything we do is guided by our vision and mission.
