Where we see ourselves in the future

To support and foster the Muslim population in the Northern Suburbs and to unite the community with its different cultural backgrounds, and to interact with surrounding local groups and communities on what is common and what is in line with Islamic teachings.

How we are going to get there

To conduct Islamic educational services, to host Islamic events and activities, and to adopt and apply Islamic teachings as a guidance for all daily matters and affairs of the community.

Our Goals

What we want. The vision will be realised through these key strategic goals:

To create a conducive environment for basic Islamic education for the Muslim population living in and around the Northern Suburbs.
To maintain and manage the Islamic Centre in order to facilitate the local Muslim community in social and spiritual pursuits.
To promote affiliation with other Muslim communities in the Wellington region in the quest for peace and prosperity for all.
To develop strategy and create a framework for consolidation of the community.

Our Objectives

What we need to do to get what we want:

Maintain the existing Centre so that the Muslim population in and around the Northern Suburbs can use the facility.
Secure a permanent Centre with the relevant consent to conduct Islamic activities.
Ensure Islamic education classes are conducted for children, youth and adults.
Secure the services of appropriately qualified teachers.
Provide facilities (space, furniture and fittings) to conduct education classes.
Create awareness among the youth about the Islamic way of life.
Initiate discussion on issues emerging from observing the tenets of Islam.
Help provide a framework for enhanced communication between the elders and younger generations of Muslims in New Zealand.
Conduct activities in affiliation with other Islamic entities in New Zealand.
